In 2011 Jennifer Parr Davis become the overall record holder on the Appalachian Trail, by hiking 2,181 miles in 46 days---an average of 47 miles per day---she become the first woman to ever set that mark.
This is Jennifer's story, in her own words, about how she startedfor the love of hiking and significantly, the love for her husband, and constant companion. Together they overcome obstacle, rugged mountains, raging rivers, winter stoms and 100+ degrees summer hit.
Jennifer Pharr Davis grew up in the North Carolina Mountains, where she developed a love for hiking at a young age, and at the age of twenty-one hiked the entire Appalachian Trail as a solo hiker.
Recently she hiked in all fifty states accompanied by her husband and daughter.
